Our philosophy

We opened the doors of the Hardanger Gjestehus for our first official guests on May 5th of 2015.

Solveig and I dreamed and searched for many years to find a guesthouse like this. We wanted to run it personally and involve our children.

Our wish is that this will be an Hardanger oasis where guests can feel really welcome and appreciated, enjoying a holiday with harmony, relaxation in a family atmosphere. We have therefore chosen to have a communal TV lounge as a social meeting place within the guesthouse. We have also chosen to not serve alcohol but to invest instead, in the locally produced, traditional applemost.

Audun has a great interest in food, especially authentic local cuisine, preferably organic. He has worked as a cook for many years. Solveig has worked and experience in hospitality, and now our work has been awarded with an eco certification.

Here, with us, quality food is made and served, prepared from the beginning!
